Clinical Massage & Ashiatsu

The pain is real. The source may be somewhere else.

THE SOURCE MATTERS

Treat the source, not just the symptom

Pain doesn’t always originate where you feel it. With more than 16 years of clinical experience, I work beyond the site of discomfort to identify patterns of tension, restriction, and dysfunction that may be contributing to your symptoms. My approach combines Ashiatsu and therapeutic bodywork to create deep, sustained work that allows the body to unwind.

Ashiatsu

Deep work.
Slow pressure.
A different kind of bodywork.

Ashiatsu is a specialized massage technique that uses the feet to apply broad, sustained pressure that allows me to work deeply without forcing the tissue. The slower pace gives your body time to respond and unwind, while allowing me to address layers of tension that can be difficult to reach with traditional massage.Pressure is always tailored to you. Ashiatsu can be deeply therapeutic while still feeling grounded, controlled, and remarkably gentle.

Clinical & Therapeutic Massage

Treating the painful area alone isn’t always enough.

With more than 16 years of clinical experience, I use targeted therapeutic techniques—including deep tissue, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and Ashiatsu massage—to identify and address the muscular patterns that may be contributing to your symptoms.I commonly work with:Lower back pain
Sciatica & piriformis-related pain
Neck & shoulder tension
Headaches & migraines
TMJ tension
Hip pain & dysfunction
Plantar fasciitis & foot pain
Carpal tunnel & forearm/wrist tension
Sports-related tension and muscular imbalance
Chronic areas of tension and restricted movement
The goal isn’t simply to make the pain feel better for a few hours. It’s to understand why your body is holding tension in the first place and work toward lasting improvement.

About Me

I’ve been working with the body for more than 16 years, with a focus on clinical and therapeutic massage, pain patterns, and helping people move and feel better.Over the years, my work has evolved to include Ashiatsu, Ashi-Thai, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and sports massage. I’m especially interested in understanding why a body is hurting—not simply treating the place where pain shows up.My approach has also been deeply shaped by my background as a yoga and meditation teacher. Through years of studying and practicing yoga, particularly Yin Yoga, I developed a deeper understanding of fascia, connective tissue, breath, stillness, and the ways we hold tension in the body. Meditation has further shaped the way I approach bodywork: with presence, awareness, and attention to the individual in front of me.I bring all of these experiences together at Somatic Sanctuary to create bodywork that is intentional, therapeutic, and responsive to what your body actually needs. My goal is simple: to help you understand your body, address what’s contributing to your pain, and create meaningful change that lasts beyond the massage table.
